From a really old schoolbook of mine...

Rebecca found one of my REALLY old schoolbooks....
And, apparently, I couldn't make my bed at the time....:)

Wind farm....

I found this picture of a wind farm on wikipedia. I think it's lovely....for a picture of a wind farm, that it.

Things

The puppies are two weeks and two days old today.

I am driving....legally...with out an adult in the vehicle.

My sisters and I are working on a song for the OAT talent show.

I love the Blue Beagle (paint your own ceramics shop in Rolla).

Pride and Prejudice is getting more fun and more exhausting at every rehearsal.

I want spring to come so that we can open the pool.

I want spring to come so that I can go outside for extended periods of time without the risk of hypothermia.

I'm making progress on my duck stamp.

Colleges are sending me emails and letters left and right. Haha!

I'm kinda missing tap lessons.

My cell phone has been lost for over a month.

The other day I was thinking how nice it would be to live by myself where I could play music and sing whenever I wanted to and it wouldn't bother anyone. That would be really nice....like, right now, Matthew is sleeping...even though it's 5:45....and I can't play or else I'll wake him up.

That's all, I believe.

Oh! I just remembered....a couple at our church has a daughter that's a missionary in Thailand and today she had quadruplets! They're all boys! I thought that was exciting.

The other day I found three items in the front pocket of my suitcase.

A copy of the Rolla Daily News from October 8, 2008.

A Duracell AA battery.

A single navy blue knitted handwarmer that I made last year.

Two Things...

that I dislike.

One: digging through a trashcan to retrieve something you accidentally dropped in there, and

Two: digging through a basket of dirty clothes because you accidentally put something clean in there with all the dirty stuff and you want to wear the clean thing tomorrow.

I have done both in the past half hour.

Ode to Jenna Kay, by Jennifer Williams

Jenny wrote this for my birthday. I love it :)

I have a friend who's short and sweet, her name is Jenna Kay.
We've had lots of fun together; good friends, I hope, we stay.
We get along together like in a pod, two peas.
I couldn't ask for a better pal, you are the Bee's knees!
She is good at lots of things like singing, dancing and such,
But as for being quiet, eh, not so much.
We have done a lot together since meeting in 2002,
Such as sledding, sleepovers and Texas.
(the last one was kinda....ew.)
We've had several epic moments, the best one being at camp.
I'll never forget performing that song, it will stick in my mind like a stamp.
Pirates of Penzance was such a blast! (Except for the broken parasol.)
Especially how hard we laughed after spraying too much aerosol!
Now, this poem may be corny, but it's the best that I can do.
I guess what I really mean to say is simply I WUV YOU!

I love you too, Jenny!!! :)

"a" vs."an"

Eureka! It's makes sense. I just didn't really think about it.

In the words "unique" and "usual", the "u" is treated as a y...a consonant (yoo-nique and yoo-sual.) So we just say "a" before them because...well, I don't know why we do it. Because we think the U is a consonant? Maybe it just sounds right to us. Or maybe English is such a messed up, confusing language that nobody knows why.

Maybe.

an eye in a mug

Found this in my tea this morning. Doesn't it look like an eye? I think I'll use this as a reference for a unique self portrait. Yes, I like milk in tea, and that's why it's a weird color.
Note: What is correct? "A unique" or "An unique" ???? Because I just typed "a unique" without thinking about it...then I realized that that I didn't put "an"....I'll look it up.

Two Things

Since my last post things in my life have changed.
1) I'm not taking the driving test today on account of the snow. I know, it's a sissy thing to do, but we don't know if they're even giving tests in this weather.
2) A couple months ago A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeline L'Engle, was bumped from my favorite book to my second favorite book, and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald took it's place. A few nights ago I started rereading A Wrinkle in Time, and last night I decided that both of these lovely books are my favorites, and that they should share that title. So, my favorite books are...

drumroll...

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle (You should read this book!) AND The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald!

terrified little me

I won't beat around the bush: I'm taking the driving test to get my license tomorrow morning.
I'm scared.
I know that there isn't any reason for me to be nervous. Alas....I am.
Tons of people have passed this test. I can do it.

I can do it!! I will!!

I just hope I'll be able to parallel park.

Fat Sally

Puppies on the way, possibly? :) Methinks so. I haven't ever seen her this large before. She was rather chubby when we lived in town, but since we've moved back she's been consistantly thin.

Confession of the Day

I can't open a banana from the "correct" end. Most people open bananas from the stem end. If I try to open it like that I end up squishing up half of the banana before I get it open. I open bananas from the bottom, by simply squeezing the black thing at the end until it opens.

God just didn't give me the gift of being able to open bananas from the "right" end, I guess.

Happiness runneth over

For the last three weeks I have been searching for a lost dvd. I looked in my room. I looked in the basement. I looked in the office. I looked other places that it was not.

I was getting a little frustrated with the sneaky little booger, hiding somewhere and not telling us where he was. So tonight, I told Clarissa (we're babysitting M&M) that after dinner, we were not going to do anything else until we had searched every single room in our house and found the dvd. I decided to start with the basement. On my way down, I stopped to look through the small piles of....things.....that are almost constantly occupying several of the steps. And surprise surprise, right underneath "It's a Wonderful Life" was our lost dvd. I'm happy:)

Not a very profound story.
Not a funny story, an inspiring story, or a sweet story, or a cute picture of a puppy.
But it made me very, very happy.
And I have nothing better to post at this moment:)
