it was possibly the most perfect rain I've ever seen.
the thunder rolled back and forth across the sky.
I went outside and got thoroughly wet, and now my hair smells like rain.
it was a september rain.
but...
it's still august, until tomorrow.
Goodness.
That's terribly romantic and impractical.
I believe that I've been thinking too much in terms of The Fantasticks, rather than reality.
And all that incorrect capitalization makes me feel like ee cummings.

findings
I only looked at a few years worth of albums. I found these two pictures and had my grandpa scan them for me.
The first one was taken in my grandparent's yard, I'm guessing.
The second was taken on a backpacking trip.
I think they're delicious. I want to print them really big and frame them on my wall.
there is a possibility...
New specs.
This picture was taking from the camera in the laptop....hence the glare on my lenses and the wonky way I'm tilting my head. I was trying really hard to avoid the glare, and I did pretty well all things considered.
My hair is Frizzytown, USA.

I love this song.

love and congratulations :)
In the summer of 1960, Clara Lou Bacon (my grandmother) was in a "serious relationship." I think she might have even been engaged...but, of course, the man that she was engaged to was not my grandfather. The young man that she was engaged to went off at the beginning of the summer to sell Bibles door to door. Clara said that she wouldn't date anyone unless he had a boat, because she loved to jet ski. Well, my grandpa had a boat, and one of his friends was dating Clara's best friend....and Clara's best friend set them up on a date! Billy Earl Gillett was handsome (and he had the boat!) and I think he might have smoked. I'm guessing it was some sort of fairy-tale love-at-first-sight, because a few weeks later, Bill told his family that he's found the woman he was going to marry. Bill and Clara were married by the end of the summer, and the young man that went off to sell Bibles came home to find his girl married to someone else.
Moral of the story: Men, if you go off to sell Bibles for the summer, marry your girl first, because apparently absence does not make the heart grow fonder. :)
Love is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It is not rude, it is not self-seeking,
it is not easily angered,
it keeps no record of wrong.
Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.
Love never fails.

college
I did.
Then Harding sent me a bunch of forms....housing request forms, forms that say I have my immunizations, forms for references, transcript forms.
I have forms coming out of my nose. And my ears.
The most excited form was the housing request form.
Meet my super fantastic friend, Molly!
Molly and I have gone to Bible camp together for several years, and two years ago, she accompanied my youth group on a hurrican relief trip to Texas. Unless some freak thing happens, we're going to be roomies! :)
Note: I look like an orange oompa-loompa in the above picture.
College is scary. Yikes!
Prayers would be most appriciated.

pink.
I was feeling a little crazy, I guess.
They're pink.
You can't really tell very well from the picture, but they're shiny. And pink.
What was I thinking?
I think it's kind of nice, actually. I've never been much of a "pink person," but it's refreshing to try something different.
I'll post a picture of them on my face when they arrive.
I hope it was a wise decision....:/

because I'm sure everyone who reads this blog (all 20 or so of you) want to know a few of my pet peeves.
1. Loading the dishwasher and opening up "sippy cups" that have cottage cheese in the bottom because they sat out too long with a bit of milk in the bottom. Sick.
2. Trash (such as paper napkins, string cheese packages, granola bar wrappers and the cardboard container thing that frozen orange juice comes in) that no one throws away for some reason or other...I don't know how it happens and I don't know how to prevent it.
3. When people don't scoot their chairs back into the table after a meal.
Both of these pet peeves are associated with irresponsible small children.
Hmm.
I'm sure glad we don't have any small children at this house!!

crunchy or creamy? skim or 2%?
Because I love peanut butter.
I like to eat it plain, on a spoon, with a glass of milk.
I also love milk.
pb: Jif. creamy.
milk: skim....actually, pretty much anything, except whole milk.
I also try to avoid milk from restaurants and cafeterias.
It just kind of freaks me out for some reason.

love.
I remember when their noses began growing from pink to black, and started to grow longer.
Needles. Vulcans. Music.
I have a project that I've been working on since Pride and Prejudice rehearsals.
Dear me, that was a long time ago.
It wasn't, really.
Was it?
Today is Gene Roddenberry's birthday.
Rather, the anniversary of his birthday.
He died a few years ago.
But...it's still his birthday.
Right?
He's the guy responsible for Star Trek.
I was doing school this morning in the dining room and I heard some strange whistling.
Was it my sisters?
Or some exotic bird?
Then I realized....
Meredith was watching Sound of Music.
And Captain Von Trapp was whistling for his children.
Haha.

today...
I whistled in the theatre, spilled salt and broke a mirror...all while walking under a ladder.
Just kidding.
Today, our church got a NEW CHURCH BUS.
Here's our old one. It dies a lot.
Seriously. It breaks down about 3 times on every trip we take in it.
And, now!! We have a new one.
I think it's very appropriate that we acquired our new bus on Friday the 13th.
So lucky.
This is one of my best friends, Courtney. Ain't she cute? This picture was taken in my backyard.
She had her wisdom teeth out today.
Again...how lucky.
